Over the years, nothing much has actually changed! Even today, the pleasures of hookah smoking are largely dependent on the art of setting it all up!
Apart from the arrangement, the tactics of storage and preservation are just as important when it comes to retaining shisha kits. Some essential tips mentioned here could specifically be of help.
Preserving Shisha Kits: Some Useful Tips
Typically, shisha kits comprise of the tobacco or the flavor or the molasses, the charcoals and the hookah pipe or equipment. And each of these needs specific preserving techniques to remain in the best of shape. Some essential guidelines with respect to the same have been discussed below.
1. Preserving the Tobacco or the Molasses: The problem with shisha flavors or molasses is that with time, they tend to dry out by losing the waters and sugars present within them. And drying out, depletes the intensity of the flavors significantly. Therefore, if you are storing them for a month, consider keeping them in the air tight pouches they are sold in. In case you wish to retain them over a month, wrap the air tight pouch in a cling film to block out the air and store this up in an airtight container. Never consider freezing your tobacco flavors.
2. Storing Charcoals: If you use quick lights for you shisha sessions retain them in their own outer boxes and place them in airtight jars for avoiding moisture penetration. If you use natural variants or log woods, keep them in the bags they are sold in and then place them inside another air tight container or plastic case.
3. Maintaining the Hookah Pipe: The only classic rule you need to follow not only for the hookah apparatus but also for the other parts of the hookah apparatus is to keep it clean and dry. The shisha pipe needs to be cleaned thoroughly, scraping off flavor remnants if any. It should then be hung for drying and then stored in closed space. Similarly, the hookah bowl and the head also need complete cleaning and drying.
Also, it is never wise to store shisha kits in travel bags for a long time as they are meant only for temporary carrying of equipment. Storing them in lofts or cupboards is a better idea.
